I'm mentally ill.
So I call in sick every day.

I'm happy to say when and if I call off, there's an answering machine. On the other end is probally folks monkey call monkey laughing their butts off listening to some of the most lame excuses from the same slackers that called off the Friday a week ago. bananadance excluding me of course whistling headbang beer

On top of that, I don't have health insurance, so that note becomes very pricey.

It's a pretty good plan, with reasonable coverage and premiums, and you're not restricted to a "network" of health care providers. I had it when I was in Indiana, a state where individual health insurance is generally unaffordable or unavailable.

The one downside is no coverage for medication (unless you're hospitalized), but I found that docs were happy to write me a script for a generic -- or even better, give me something from their free samples.

So, did you ever actually USE it? You never get sick.

Yes. When I had my skin cancer scare, they paid for the examination (by a professor of dermatology at the Indiana U. med school) and subsequent surgery. And IIRC I came down with acute bronchitis twice when I was covered by that plan... both times they picked up the tab for my visit to a "doc in the box" walk-in clinic. There may have also been one or two other things I don't remember.

In any event, I never had any problems with them paying a claim.

Ok. Good to know. Thanks.

I wish I had signed up. I had to go to the ER recently, and I seem to have a throat infection that I'm hoping isn't going to require yanking my tonsils. neutral
