Not everybody is rich enough to afford a real tree. Or a truck for that matter.

Not everybody is rich enough to afford a real tree. Or a truck for that matter. OHHHH!!!!! The box...now I get it. Just like the one my family had with the rotating colored light. AND not everybody is ambitious enough to work two jobs, support one's self, pay their own way through college, get the hell out of some village in the middle of nowhere....and later on down the road, afford a real tree and own a truck. There's no trust fund in my history. The term "rich" indicates "privilege". I'm plenty rich...doesn't have anything to do with dinero [Edited 12/30/06 19:40pm]

Yeah, I took mine down today. Thank god. It's such a burden. There should be a Christmas Tree Burning festival on the 28th.

They don't fit back in the box for the same reason you cannot ever re-fold a map.
My tree is coming down this Wed if not sooner. I'm firmly planted in denial

I did not. I love the look of it, the lights and the memories it holds. Four years ago, I inherited my mom's christmas decorations; a small collection of 50 year old christmas decorations. I dress up my tree as we used to when I was a child. Just after St Nicolas (December 5th) here in Holland, people put upt heir trees, but I wasn't really in the mood. Then, once the veil lifted, I put it up four days before Xmas. So it hasn't been up that long. And then I did not finish it until like four days ago. So I am still enjoying it. It also helps I never drown myself in the commercial side of the holidays. I am not religious. But the part of the tree, as it stems from the old pagan feast of light traditions, I still keep. And I have been ogling a very expensive Christmas group in the religious store in Amsterdam, actually a replica of an antique group my father used to own; HUGE statues that would fill out half my room, but it is part of my youth and it is calling me; buy me, BUY ME.

hehehe, somehow that would make my mom giggle... I do not have a great cam, but will ask my best buddy for his. Maybe then I can also put my ass in a sink for you. But serious, my tree is all memories, the modern day ornaments are from the tree I used to put up with my previous bf, hehehe. Small desription; k, fake tree, next year a real one, okay?, lots of coloured ornaments; my mom loved colours. With my prev bf I used to have a red with gold tree. And the lights are all coloured. It's quite sparkly.
