I don't know about you, but the holidays seem alot like much to do about nothing to me. I'm glad when they are over. Of course they will be over soon enough with the up and coming holiday spectacular. That's right, New Years Eve will be here before you know it. Are you ready? New Years Eve, the one day people consider how they've fucked up their lives in the past and then resolve to change, but they don't.

My birthday is on New Years Eve, and people all over the world celebrate once my birthday is over. They even count it down to the seconds! What did I ever do to deserve that???

I'm a bit disappointed in the plans for this year, but I'll live. I will likely be hanging out with just a few close friends and having some drinks at someone's home. New Years is tradtionally a big night out for my friends and I and I'm disappointed I can't get a group together to go out on the town this year.
I love new years. Its always, always a fun night out. Eveyrone dresses up and everyone's excited and people who don't normally go out for a night of fun are out and about.

My worst New Years ever I had strep throat and tried to attend a friend's party and left shortly after midnight. I should have just stayed home.
My best New Years ever was 1999 into 2000 my roommate and my downstairs nightbors and I all threw a party together in our shared basement. There were 200+ people, the DJs were fantastic, I don't think I've ever thrown a more successful or more fun party.

One year stands out as pretty lame.

I was a teen and had nothing to do for new years, so some friends & I went to see a movie, it was Broadcast News. We joked that they'd probably shut down the movie at midnight and say "Happy new year, losers!"

Sure enough, the movie stops at a few minutes to midnight. But it wasn't to celebrate, the projector broke. When they finaly got it going again they had skipped a reel, and there was a near riot of losers.

this year, we're having another couple over with their kids. they're coming over around 4, staying till 8...and then we'll watch a movie, then the ball drop with our two girls, and then put them to bed..then do some new years loving..
on new years day we're going to a wedding reception

some of the best new years eve's have been quiet ones
