Pro Bowl Honors

4 Seattle Seahawks voted into the Pro Bowl 2007. clapping woot!

Mack Strong Walter Jones Lofa Tatupu Julian Peterson

KIRKLAND - While the Seattle Seahawks continue their trek to retain first place in the NFC West to clinch their unprecedented third consecutive division title, the recognition from the rest of the league just keeps on coming.

Tackle Walter Jones, linebacker Julian Peterson, fullback Mack Strong and linebacker Lofa Tatupu were all named the 2007 Pro Bowl to represent the Seahawks and the NFC.

“It’s always a great honor,” said Strong, named for the second year in a row after 12 seasons without any recognition. “It’s kind of a strange feeling when you don’t feel like you’re playing at the same level as the year before, and still get recognized for the same thing.

“But individually, it always feels good to be honored by others for the way you do your job.

This will be the sixth trip in a row to the Pro Bowl for Jones and his seventh overall (1999, 2001-06), moving him into a second-place tie with wide receiver Steve Largent for most trips to the annual All-Star game. Only defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy, with eight, has played in more Pro Bowls.

This is the third trip to the Pro Bowl for Peterson, and first with Seattle after signing as a free agent last winter. He was named twice with the San Francisco 49ers (2003-04), and Peterson has responded with a career-high 9.0 sacks, leads the team with 12 quarterback hurries and is fourth on the team with 79 tackles (63 solo).

Strong originally signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 1993, and has blocked for eight 1,000 yard rushers and seven 1,200-yard rushers in the last nine seasons. This season, he has helped Shaun Alexander and Maurice Morris to over 1,000 rushing yards combined. Strong has been Alexander’s escort to many of his 104 total touchdowns over the last seven seasons.

Tatupu earns his second trip in as many seasons to the Pro Bowl. He leads the team with 104 tackles (79 solo), one off his career-high of last season’s 105 tackles. He is the first Seattle player to record back-to-back 100-tackle seasons since Anthony Simmons (2000-01).

The Pro Bowl will be held on Saturday, February 10 in Honolulu, Hawaii (CBS, 3:00 PM PT).

Prince To Perform At 2007 Superbowl Halftime - Maira Oliveira - All Headline News Reporter

Miami, FL (AHN) - For the past three consecutive years, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performer has worked the crowds during the Super Bowl halftime showdown. First, it was Beatle Paul McCartney, then Mick Jagger, and in 2007, it will be Prince.

Prince - who is winner of six Grammy awards - will headline the halftime entertainment in Miami. The most watched game of the year is set to take place on February 4 and will be broadcast on CBS.

Since Janet Jackson's nipple exposure in 2004, the NFL is monitoring every year's performance. Yahoo! reports that in 2005, Mick Jagger's microphone was silenced when he sang "sexually suggestive lyrics." However, everything is expected to run smoothly when Prince takes center stage.

An estimated 141 million people tuned in to watch Pittsburgh and Seattle last year.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
