Several of my current credit cards will already give me a credit report for free, so I don't use those online credit report companies. There's always hidden charges with them, they're never really free.

thxs, for the heads up. No prob. I have a card with Providian for example, and when I login to check my statement, there's an option to view my credit report as well.

They actually are free ~ you just can't get your score without a fee which is what most of us really want to know. The site is difficult to navigate but if you are persistant, keep close record of the password you select and only try to get one a year, you can do it. Go to all three ~ they will have different information! I believe the companies make it intentionally difficult because legislation forced them to provide this information ~ it seems designed to sabotage your success. Also, if you have been denied credit recently, you may be able to go to your local credit bureau and get a free complete report. Take the letter of denial with you and I believe you have to make the request within 30 days (you can also request the information from the source that denied the credit). Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife. --Kahlil Gibran

Ex-Moderator | The state of Minnesota says you have to be provided one for free once a year. I think I paid $5 to view the score. I don't remember which one now. But I was happy with my results! |
