Nursing is a very difficult job, and to those nurses who are nice, hugs and kisses to you. However, not all are nice! Last year I broke my foot and the nurse who was wheeling me around almost ran me right into the door, broken foot first! Then I got on the xray table and she was helping the xray tech. She's yelling at me to move my foot a certain way, and I mean YELLING. So I yelled right back at her and said "My fucking foot is BROKEN, I CAN'T move it!!". She got fed up and left the room!!! disbelief The x-ray tech laughed and called her a bitch!

So that's my little story for the day...

I know what you mean. The nurse who drew my blood right before I had surgery was like a robot. She was pretty much blank the whole time but even then when I said thank you she did respond in her robotic way. Nurses shouldn't lose focus that they are important and that many times patients are just going through too dramatic an experience to stop and say thank you.

I am a nurse too! Thank all of you for your kind words. We are often abused and work hard, but most of us wouldn't trade it for anything.

To all of you "recovering" I wish you a painless and speedy recovery.
