If youre thristy, you drink

If youre hungry, you eat

If youre lonely, you reach out to people

I keep telling myself that eventually I’ll stop feeling this way but I don’t and I’m starting to believe that I won’t that it’s just apart of my nature, apart of who I am and what makes me...me.

I know what you mean. This is why I'm never able to make close friends; just acquaintances. I want to so badly, but it just doesn't ever seem to happen.

I guess it's also why it feels like a bigger deal when I lose a gf, since finding someone who doesn't make me feel even more alone and who "gets" me is rare as it is.

It sucks. My mother was always the same way, and she ended up basically friendless and in a loveless marriage. That keeps me very worried at nights.

Just want to say thank you to the words of encouragement - feel a lot better after some good sleep and having written a college essay!

This is definitely why people keep coming back here!

Love to you ALL

On occasion, late at night, after etoh consumption, I go into my itunes library and listen to music that makes me feel better. Plus, who else in their right mind is going to be up at 0100 to keep me entertained and distracted.(oh yeah, here)

I'm late, I know. Unfortunately, lonely/alone, darkness/depression are many times seen as something to avoid, that they are bad or there is something wrong if you feel this way. The body and the mind goes through it's downtimes. I'm a loner anyway, so I enjoy it because that's when I do my best creative work. I know when I feel this way, I just flow with it, I don't try to force myself to be happy. It's my body's way of resetting itself. Times like these, I would put on my favorite movies, order some take out and curl up on the couch. It was magic! Especially during the holidays when I was single and had no family to visit.

Good advice! You're right, we do see it as a negative thing. I never really thought of the opposite...

co-sign I never thought of it in that way either whenever it's talked about or discussed it's always negatively I've heard it as being a positive.

that you just wanted to sit down and cry...?

Its 1.50am here and that is exactly how I feel...

I would love to blame it on the hour and alcohol but this feeling has been my friend for some days now... any advice or enlightenment...?

It would be MOST appreciated.
