the one reason I'm really kinda scared to go to Thailand next year. It is a serious phobia of mine. Not so serious I won't go. But I really am very, very scared of insects and crawly things and if I see a gigantic cockroach or spider or whatever, I just don't know what I'll do. I've never fainted, but I imagine it could be possible. redface

It's actually the one reason I'm really kinda scared to go to Thailand next year. It is a serious phobia of mine. Not so serious I won't go. nod I am the same, I wouldnt let it stop me going, but damn, I really dont wanna! I can't explain it, I just hate them boxed

And I have this rule too, that goes for everything, "if theres one theres more" - whenever I get a spider or somethingin my house Im all like sad "this doesnt come under if theres one theres more does it?"

In my last flat I came across 2 massive spiders (massive to me anyway, no tropical nonsense here), and *thankfully*, my ex boyfriend was over each time! I screamed and got a bit hysterical lol one of the times he looked at me funny and got up from the couch, and said, "um, its ok but I think I just saw a spider...." It crawled under my covers and into my bed!!! omfg got it in the end though eek

Wow I did not mean to type this much. Good luck in Thailand though! giggle comfort

Thanks. I actually have a little thing up at my desk to remind me not to be so scared of spiders. redface It's this drawing (stick figure-y) of a girl and a spider and in a little balloon she's saying to the spider 'No longer do I fear you' and there's a thing underneath that says "No longer does she fear the spider. Instead she draws strength from the knowledge of her bravery in its presence."

I still run away screaming, though. neutral

VW's are gas guzzlers.

They can be, though she could get a diesel one and use biodiesel. biggrin

Gas Guzzlers? WTF, my jaguar V12 could be called a gas guzzler, even the most hopped up VW I ever owned was not a gas guzzler?

But look at the HP curve, and more than that the soul. But also they arn't V12's so they aren't bad on gas regardless of how they stack up against the same size engine in a duller car.

I'm really not knockin' 'em. I just know that Carrie is perhaps more concerned than your average person about this sort of thing.

I drive a V6 that only gets 18mpg, so I've really got no room to piss on VW. I mean, I rarely actually DRIVE it, but still. boxed

Well now it's my turn

Driving home two nights ago my head gasket let loose quite spectacularly, plumes of steam rose from the tail pipe. I walked the three miles to my son's daycare where my wife showed up looking for us.

So I am back on my motorcycle praying that the snow holds off untill I can get it fixed. sigh
