I don't think so. To me, Bush always come across as scripted, and his "simple guy from Texas" image is as fake as it gets as far as I'm concerned. Like he wants to be shown with his stetson, he wants film crews to check out how he handles a chainsaw, etc... those are obvious attempts at image building, and I don't buy them. The same goes for his "dead or alive" antics... I just go "Oh STFU, you Central Casting Prez"

Nope. Heck, at this point I'd take Ronnie the vegetable over Bush. Ronnie with alzheimer's still has more going on in his head than W! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

It is the essence of being a politician. I personally don't really care for Bush but I did gain some respect for him during 9/11 when he showed emotion for the victims. My feelings are probably just a direct correlation to the favorable ratings he received at the time...since the public was bound to respond positively to almost ANY president in power due to the need to unite around the tradgedy...

narcotizedmind said: I know you all know these, but here goes anyway. Some cool stuff from http://www.bushisms.com. Churchill had "we will fight on the beaches" and all that crap. Here's real eloquence:
"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully." Saginaw, Mich., Sept. 29, 2000 --- "I will have a foreign-handed foreign policy." Redwood, Calif., Sept. 27, 2000 --- "One of the common denominators I have found is that expectations rise above that which is expected." --Los Angeles, Sept. 27, 2000 --- "...more and more of our imports are coming from overseas." -- On NPR's Morning Edition (9/26) - (Thanks Paul ...) Seriously, how this guy got to be president is just a mystery to non-Americans. There was an excellent BBC doco called "The Accidental President" which I suppose got no air play at all in the States. O.k., Americans, you've made your point. You do have a truly wacky, ironic sense of humour. Right, we get it, ha, ha. Well done you guys, but please, please, don't elect him again (but will he even come close to George Snr.'s immortal "vision thing"??). It's not really that big a mystery. He's too dumb and shortsighted to be a real threat to the money that got him elected. He's like the rich boss' son who got a high level job in the company you work at and makes twice as much money as you do. Everyone knows he's too lazy to be dangerous, to indebted to make waves, and too stupid to have a vision of his own. He has a GREAT speechwriter. I still think his post 9/11 public addresses were stunningly good, but pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Prince.org definately has a liberal slant to it!!! liberal, nothing. I'm Libertarian and voted for the guy - actually, voted against Gore - and he's gone waaayyy over the edge. He's going to pick the wrong fight, either with a terrorist country or with the American people, and the balance of power is gonna swing back to Europe. It's been a great 200 years. No. I'd give my right arm to go back to talking about blowjobs in the Oval Office and who to credit for a balanced budget.

Actually i was only half kidding when I made the comment about no terrorist attacks in the U.S., or on U.S. interests, in almost a year. That IS something, whether we can credit W or not. You've got to give him SOME credit for that. A man who by any reasonable definition is dumber than I am handled the single most intense and surreal crisis of my lifetime in a manner that shocked nearly everyone with an IQ over 50 - or at least his speechwriter did. either way, ther is nothing you could offer me that would make me want to be in his place and making the decisions he's making, despite my criticism of him and his obviously inferior intellect. Prince.org definately has a liberal slant to it!!! [/quote] Yes it does.

okay okay i thought of something positive to say about the man: president george w. bush keeps his nose hair well-trimmed. and, despite his utter lack of intellectual credibility, i bet he doesn't smell too bad.

Here's something positive: ''This campaign not only hears the voices of the entrepreneurs and the farmers and the entrepreneurs, we hear the voices of those struggling to get head"
If that isn't concern for the disadvantaged in society, what is? Oh, and he's got a pair of cute daughters... Now, if he'd only combine these two attributes and start an affirmative action programme... Out of the way Clinton ol' buddy, I'm first in line!!

Funny how the Europeans are so liberal now and against US foreign policy...but when THEY had the power hundreds of years ago they colonized the world and raped and enslaved millions. Can we say Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin...or even more recently to ethnic cleansing of Yugoslavia??? Please...let's keep the "balance of power" right here in the good Ol' US of A.
