i have this figurine that looks very sad, and is missing a bit of it's body (the way it was purposely modeled) and i named him Melancholy Melvin...
so one day a friend of mine asked me why is he so melancholy...and i came up with this picture, and i plan on doing two more and making it a trilogy....
it was random to begin with

It is quite an event. There is a school here in Oakland called the Crucible. They they teach the "fire arts" and they have this great festival every summer called the "Fire Arts Festival." It is a lot of fun, if not a bit dangerous.

There was one exhibit called Dance Dance Immolation. They basically dressed you up in one of those fire suits and you then played Dance Dance Revolution. If you miss a step, you get engulfed in flames. Like this.....

At first I wasn't too convinced about The Gates idea, but they were so amazing. I've actually met Christo & Jeanne-Claude; they came to a special opening at a museum where I previously worked and I gave them their gift bags. They are both very short and Jeanne-Claude's hair is bright orange, like the color of the gates.

I took this pic at ground zero NYC. I was actually not supposed to take pics in this area but, when was I going to be in NY again? I stuck my arm through an opening with my camera and this was the result. I think I was standing in the World Financial Bldg that used to be connected to one of the towers via a raised walkway.
