He was living in a shed behind a factory. The factory workers were giving him scraps of ham and chicken and gave him some milk ..but i thought it was cruel they just left him there..as he was in the shed for two weeks.
He is so tiny, and has a little round tummy, possibly from eating food he couldn't digest as he is so young. I was going to keep him, but my one year old cat keeps attacking him ..today he tried to bite him. So i have to keep them apart and the poor little mite wants to be held all the time and then he keeps scratching and biting us but he is only playing though and is very affectionate..so i have a number for a women that re-homes cats, i feel really bad but i think it's the best thing for him.

I feel awful and i know i will be upset, but the vet told me he will be re-homed and not put down.
He just did his poo in the litter tray, got out and cleaned his bum on the kitchen floor ..my nerves are gone! is it the right thing to do for him and my very unhappy cat?

usually you have to keep the cats seperated for a few weeks before introducing him to the other cat. I have five, and this is what I had to do with each of them. Its very upsetting the first weeks and trust me I slept very little. But it is also best if you can't give him all the attention he needs to give it to someone who will care, especially if they wont put him down. Just don't get too attached and make sure they will take good care of him.

The round belly may be because the kitten needs to be dewormed. All kittens and puppies need to be dewormed and the characteristic sign of worms in a young animal (or human) with a round pot belly. It's nothing to be worried about, he just needs to go to the vet and they take care of it as part of the exam.

When you bring a new cat into a home with an established, older cat, you usually have to separate them for awhile.

When I found my girl cat, I was living in a house with two other cats and I kept her separate from them for about a week or so and then I only let her out when I was home and then, after a bit, I had her out all the time. She and the other cats would fight and sometimes it sounded scary but eventually they worked things out.

I did the same thing when I took in my boy cat. They fought at first but it was far less than if I had just thrown them in together.

It's normal for a kitten to scratch and bite when they play but you can teach them that it is not acceptable for them to do that. Play with them using a toy and stop playing when they bite and scratch you.

My boy cat cleans his bum on the floor after he goes to the bathroom sometimes, too. Cats can be pissers that way.

Anyway, if your older cat is extremely unhappy with the situation and it's all craziness at your house, then re-homing the kitten may be the best idea. Cats are adaptable and he should be fine.

Here are my darlings now...these are the ones I posted about this was last year...they are a year old now.

I got them when they were two weeks old they were these tiny things and I know exactly how you feel! I would cry every day and most of the time when I was online they would be on my lap while I bottle fed them.

I completely understand thats how I fell for my pooksies. They need and require a lot of attention I stayed home one week from school just to bottle feed them every two hours. It was really intense, and if they are really small and can't poo yet you have to help them poo which is the grossest thing ever, but they are just babies ya know. I was going to give them away but I was too attached. My other cats, well the younger ones who are only a year older than them...pooky and mimi...they took care of them and got use to them. The eldest, chillie, we had some trouble with her shes a bit sass...and has a bit of an attitude problem but after a few months she would play with them.

The warm will stimulate him to go to the bathroom...try rubbing his tummy too. Also as said above he may have worms which is why his tummy is really round. Its ok...he'll get that taken care of but most importantly the kitty needs to poo lol. The kittens when they had to go and couldn't go the would meow annnnnoyingly until we helped them poo. After a while they learn to go. But at least he is peeing which is good!

i bawled when i gave a half brother to one of my cats away as a cute little kitten
but it really was for the best.
he was in a home with no other competition for love and attention
and i already had two cats to look after

oh and the wormy thing might be why he wiped his ass on the floor too

very nice of you to help a kitten.

Our second cat was a stray with her kittens. I'll never forget how wild she was when we first found her. She became a little sweetheart, but she was still afraid of anyone other than family.

Just throw him down your garbage disposal and hit the switch. Problem solved.
