Ut oh Ive done it now... computer help please! So, my son is a gamer and they were on my computer leaving me to use theirs and well um.... I changed the monitor settings because everything was so damn small I couldnt read and wouldnt you know it I chose the setting that caused the monitor to go dark. Its been years and I can't remember how to undo this without being able to see.....

Start with changing it to 1280 x 720 (or whatever you have closest to that). My monitor is a wide screen requiring 1400 x 900 so I don't get quite the same options. | |

Uh huh nice um how does one do that whilst staring at a blank screen????? Reboot windows, and boot it up in "Safe Mode" There should be an option to do this when the PC is starting up. Safe mode will force the safest driver settings of your video card to appear (it'll look ugly as hell, but that will allow you access to those settings). Though I haven't done this in years. | |

reboot. hit F8 before the "Windows" logo appears, but after the BIOS check.
from there, you can set the video to 800x600 If that doesn't work, try putting in a different video card. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
