Stop trying to make this about stupid Clay you guys. rolleyes

It's about Kelly! biggrin

Kelly was no doubt trying to be ribald (I've seen the clip several times) and there was much more innuendo than alleged germ phobia. But then Rosie had to go in and not only spell it out but pronounce it phonetically.

Meanwhile I'm just saying if Doogie can do it, Clay you can too! But hell this world is so f--ked up that it's not my place to say anything.

what is ribald?

granted. i am just saying rosie didn't out him, he had already been outed.

having seen the incident on tv, Clay acted inappropriately by putting his hand over Kelly Ripa's mouth. It had nothing to do with sexuality, imho, it had to do with curtesy and i agree...you have no idea where a person's hand has been. how many people neglect to wash their hands after visiting the restroom?

personally, i think all 3 are wrong. clay shouldn't have done that, kelly shouldn't have responded the way she did, and rosie shouldn't have made it bigger than it was.

i just wanted to point out that people who are saying rosie outed clay are just as guilty of seeing something that isn't there, cause he had already been outed.

That was awkward to watch.

when Kelly said that, I also thought it was more of a sex related comment than anything. Not specifically a gay thing,

Either way, Clay was totally disrespectful to even do something like that, he's a GUEST on the show for christs sake.

agreed. whatever way kelly would like to explain it now i think it just exposed her distain for clay as a person. even cheerful bubbly people like kelly can't be expected to like everyone. i'm sure she would have said it a different way if she could but it's caught on tape.

and of course it was rude of clay to do so in the first place.
perhaps when we thrust fame upon someone like we do the reality tv people they are bound to fuck up?

as for rosie... i'm glad i'm never going to be in her crosshairs confused i love her and all but sometimes she can be a bit too voracious.

I respectfully disagree. Clay's sexual preference has been INSINUATED repeatedly but he has never come out on his own. There has been numerous speculation about his sexuality dating all the way back to AI and certainly ratcheting up with the tabloid stuff a year ago. But no one has come out and said Clay was gay and Clay certainly hasn't said so himself. It has been strongly hinted but he has not been outed. Rosie was the first to flat out say that "IF he were a straight man" Kelly wouldn't have minded.

How come there isn't as much of an uproar about how condescending it is for a guy to put his hand over a womans mouth to tell her to shut up? Everyone seems to be dwelling on Rosie's comments instead.

IMHO
I don't think Kelly was trying to be "naughty" I think she was down right annoyed and pissed of at mr aiken for his rude move....and on a live show...she said what she could. Someone just today said "I don't know where your hands been" to a co-worker of mine in a joking fashion...neither are gay. That whole homophobe reaction from Rosie seemed to be a huge stretch, and Clay has NEVER said he was gay...so she either made a big Ooopsy or was totally outing him...yeah yeah,...he's kinda been outted anyway but I think she's trying to get him to admit it publicly like the bully she is. neutral
"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok

Well, being "outed" isn't fair to the person at all. They should have the right to decide to talk about it or not.

People were saying that she and Clay are close friends, she would most likely know his sexual preference and that he hasn't addressed it publicly himself. I would think that a "friend" would respect that and not talk about it publicly like she did.

It's totally disrespectful to Clay.

And yes, I agree that all were wrong in what they did.

the enquirer has outed him repeatedly over the years. someone he tricked with had a cumrag with his DNA on it, they published pics of him taken from a webcam on manhunt.com,...

he refused to acknowledge it, which is telling. all it would have taken was a DNA test to prove the cum wasn't his.

and they have webcam pics he sent on manhunt.net, a notorious gay cruising site.

agreed.

i believe in outing ONLY when that person is deliberately and methodically working against gay people - ie politicians.

what clay does is clay's business.

i am just pointing out that rosie didn't out him, as people are incorrectly claiming.

Yeah. I thought the Hastard outing was appropriate because he was so instrumental in damagign so many people's lives. I mean the hate legislation they introduce (and it *is* HATE legislation) makes things so much more difficult on so many Americans. He deserved it.

Clay on the other hand, only offends my musical ear.

He mentioned in an interview one time that he hated his pet cat, so he drove over it with his car. From that point on, I lost all respect for him. Every time I see an interview with him, he seems fake and comes off like a catty bitch.

that hasn't existed since the late 70s, and i am not sure i would post it for a general audience who might not understand and take it for something much worse than what it was.
