David Lynch, Laura Dern & A Cow: Yup, Its Almost Oscar Time! Holy Cow, for Your Consideration Over the years, David Lynch has been accused of both brilliance and obtuseness as a director. But to the Bagger, he’s also one guy willing to live his artistic values out loud. Several times in the past few weeks, the director of “Inland Empire” has camped out at busy Hollywood intersections so he could tout his female lead, Laura Dern, with a folding chair, a “For Your Consideration” banner and a live cow (as opposed to a dead one). According to the folks at indieWire, when he was asked about the presence of his bovine co-campaigner, he “responded that milk comes from cows and while making ‘Inland Empire,’ he ate a lot of cheese.” That completely clears things up in the Bagger’s mind, although Mr. Lynch’s way to doing things could cut down on some of the advertising trade publications typically reap from the endless Oscar campaign. Maybe Variety should start doing cow rentals by the hour. In any case, Mr. Lynch has proven himself strong for his posse and willing to make sure Ms. Dern gets a look in a very competitive year for actresses. Space for sale...

Lynch is brilliant.....in a way that Hollywood will never understand.....I doubt that he'll ever get an Oscar without giving in! That's just the way it is, I guess.....

I agree, I love David Lynch! He's an original, ive always viewed him as an artist, not unlike like Dali, but a film maker as opposed to a painter, he's brilliant.
