People in the News: Chris Rock thinks he loves his wife -- NOT
Comedian Chris Rock has begun divorce proceedings against his wife of nearly 10 years, Malaak Compton-Rock. TMZ.com reports the comedian has hired a high-powered divorce attorney.

The couple, married in 1996, have two young daughters. Malaak is the founder and executive director of StyleWorks, a non-profit, full-service salon that provides free services for women leaving welfare and entering the work force.

Best known for his stand-up comedy, Rock is in post-production for the film "I Think I Love My Wife."

Wow, 10 years is a long time in Hollywood, but there's definitely something in the water this year. Everyone seems to be splitting. I wish him and Malaak the best, especially when it comes to their 2 little girls.

This makes me really sad. Although I gotta say on the same day I read about Brittany Sparkles divorce & snickered

Still, they've been together a while & have two kids. Despite all their financial resources it's gonna suck for their daughters

their marriage made me sadder than their divorce.

all the tabloid covergae, drama, rumors, etc. that went on during their marriage seemed far worse then what the aftermath of their divorce will be.

also, for me anyway, it's sadder to see a couple that has been married for 10 years get divorced than a couple that has been together for only a few years. it just seems more serious.

i'm also more of a chris rock fan. i can't lie about that. i don't own one britney CD but i definitely own Chris Rock's comedy CDs. that may be a part of it, too.

I just feel bad for Brit. (Everyone knows how I feel about this) I just think the media live to make her look like an idiot, and I don't think its necessary.

the media does live to make her look like an idiot but I don't think that they're entirely to blame. She does do some idiotic things but most of them seem to be related to her youth and inexperience. Unfortunately for her, there are people whose job it is to take pictures and report about every stupid mistake she makes.

On the one hand I'm a bit proud of Britney for her behavior in recent years. Instead of trying to be picture perfect for the media, she's totally blown them off and has just been herself.

Then on the other hand, when I see her doing things like walking barefoot out of a gas station bathroom, I cringe. When I see her driving a car with her baby on her lap, I can't believe my eyes. I didn't even know that people did that kind of a thing! But then life goes on.

They weren't together long enough to have the same impact. Plus she willingly married a turd & they run around putting all their shit on display (the stupid reality show, etc.). So it's just different. I do feel bad about Reese Witherspoon & Ryan Phillipe, they were together for a number of years & have two kids also. Their marriage wasn't a joke like Brickney & the turd
