I've had this problem (although mine was very painful as well) for a long time and when I lay down on my back, or something pushes into my back, my right arm will start flailing all over the place like a fish dying on a table. It has something to do with a nerve being pushed on.

Maybe your chair is hitting your upper back in a weird way.

seriously though, I get that from time to time after a really strenuous shoulder workout...or if I'm doing some particularly demanding physical labor...for me, stretching and rotating the arm works a bit, but in the end it usually just goes away on its own....

at least your eye isn't twitching too....
