what's your favorite pick-me-up?

So over the last few days I've been slipping back into old habits. The beginning of my seasonal affective disorder kicking in full force, I think I've been looking for comfort.
Trouble is, I'm not finding it where I thought I would. I made myself a platter of junk food last night for dinner. And it tasted awful and made me feel sick.
So tonight I decided I'd try smoking again. So I just walked to the store and bought a pack of cigarettes. After a few puffs, I was utterly disgusted. It made me feel dizzy and nauseous. Put it out, and came inside.

sigh

I suppose (ok, I know) it's for the best. It just feels like I don't have anything left.

So what do you do? Where do you find your comfort? What do you do when the old tricks aren't working anymore?

Yeah but I'm not creative at all. I don't even know what I'd draw. I'd need someone to give me drawing assignments or something. lol

my secret potion is roasted yerba mate, which you can probably find at a local bulk coffee store, if you have one out there (which i'm guessing you do). nobody listens to me when i rave about what a cure-all this tea is, but i love it because it IS such a great pick-me-up (i just wrote over 5,000 words today while drinking a bodum full of the stuff) and the taste also resembles coffee enough for me to keep going back to it. it gives you a buzz, but you don't crash from it. it's a nice, healthy, clean energy boost and it's full of vitamins and all kinds of good, healthy stuff. you can also get non-roasted yerba mate (i know seward cafe serves it), but i don't like it as much as the roasted. it's probably more potent, though...

hmmm I know what you mean. lol Maybe draw a picture of another orger... giggle

You know...I'd been thinking about starting a "draw me a picture" thread where ppl'd do just that, draw a pic and then request a pic for someone else...but I dunno...

Eating several chocolate cookies, but I've replaced that with putting on a good tv show/movie and riding my bike to it. Exercise can feel almost as good as sex and certainly way better than those stupid cookies.

That's a good one. And I felt awesome after yoga this morning.
But that fades pretty fast. And I can't live at the gym. lol My apartment is so small, there's no room to do anything remotely exercise-y inside it.

Maybe I should start living at the gym. hmmm

Excercise.
Have a drink.
Read a book.
Theres lots of stuff you can do.

Rite now is my fave time of the year cuz the holidays are coming and I LOVEEEE to watch the cooking channel (Food Network) and get ideas for Thnaksgiving and Christmas dinner. That always gets me in a good mood. If your into that kind of thing.....
