 I have no idea why!i was introduced to john waters when my mom rented 'pink flamingos' for us to watch on thanksgiving night at her best friend's house. my mom had NO idea what was in the movie, she just thought divine was fun. so after thanksgiving dinner, we all gathered around - my mom, me, her best pal and her husband and two daughters - and we started watching the movie. we got about as far as the chicken fuck scene. 
the adults were MORTIFIED. of course, as soon as we got home, i was on the horn to my friends: "we GOTTA rent this movie called 'pink flamingos', it's SO GROSS!" 
and thus, a john waters fammy fam was born. I think obviously my parents had no idea what these films were about | |
