This is the sick face of America now. This, from Michael Savage's short television show run:

No wonder people no longer read books. Makes more sense why others hate us. Savage and his ilk need to just go play in the traffic. All you others say Hell Yea!!  | |

Like you said, nobody reads books anymore. Talk radio isn't exactly film, sports, music, or television either, in terms of ratings.
