Great season and great show but I got some issues with the overall concept. To me the PR seems to be contradicting itself. According to their website:

“Bravo’s third season of the Emmy-nominated reality series “Project Runway” is kicking off! Selected from thousands of hopefuls, an all-new cast of fifteen talented fashion designers will compete for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show in the world-renowned Bryant Park tents during New York's Fashion Week.

“Project Runway” will provide the opportunity for these budding designers to break into the notoriously exclusive fashion business. The wildly successful competition reality series has proven to be one of television's most talked-about shows and produced some of TV's most memorable personalities and unforgettable moments.”

So if this is show for new and up and coming talent then how does Jeffrey win? He already has a production company, a high design studio, is internationally known, already has a high profile clientele and has already shown a collection at Fashion Week.

Also if the rules indicate that you can’t go over your limit, simply saying “well you can’t show it” seems to be a cop-out. At this level of the game it would seem that whatever rules are present should be a little stricter.

Also what were the requirements for showing at Fashion Week? If each designer did a collection that showcased their unique skills and talent then why not judge them on that if there are no requirements written down in the first place. I don’t see how anyone can judge Jeffrey’s collection versus Laura’s collection. They cater to completely different markets.

I love the show but some things make me go hummmmm…….


My personal take….

I was actually at Fashion Week and got a chance to see each collection live and in person…

I will admit Jeffrey’s collection was bangin. I could definitely see his collection in Elle…. He's still an ass....

BUT

I’m sorry but Uli was robbed. Her collection (although one note) was far more pleasing, sexy, and sensual, sophisticated and displayed the elegance I love so much in women….

Laura you East Side Manhattan b*tch!!! I love you mommy. Do you baby… Her collection was also bangin. Since I work on the East side at Rockefeller Center, her collection would EASILY be a hit over here… Some of these older rich white women are fierce!!! No disrespect…..

Michael, sexual chocolate himself…. I don’t know what happen. Too much bootie bangin over in Buckhead at Platinum 21 or The Pink Pony maybe (no it’s not a gay club)…. Maybe Brandon… err I mean Brandy is brainwashing him… I did like some of the designs he presented (especially the beachwear) but over the collection was too BABYPHAT/J-LO/BEYON-Z, I mean Jay-Z… No wait, what’s this chicks name again….

I really wished he took the advice of Michael Korrs when he said “Your strong point is sportswear”. Homie he was giving you a HINT TO WIN!!! Hello!!!! You could have switched up and did a complete sportswear collect. That would have been the move… Never the less you got every big butt booty sista (and some of the other girls) wanting to get in your pants… Scratch that… I mean wanting you to design something for them… He’s got a BIG future ahead of him…. Word on the street is that he is already one of the main headliners at Fashion Week next year….

After Flavor of Love I’m going to take a break from all this reality TV stuff… At least until Mr. New York aka Ms. New York starts Flavorette… I can’t believe they gave this dude her own show… What is this world coming to? I can’t wait…..

Michael's collection was a disappointment from the one still I saw the week of the show (before the finale aired). I think animal print is always, ALWAYS borderline tacky & even a seasoned designer can't always pull it off. I wish he'd gone more in the sportswear direction too, the long white dress w/ ties up the front was way cute. But everything else was too short, too hoochie, too hooker-hoe

Laura's stuff was really nice, so fucking classic. I loved the variation of colored beading against the black (hell, I liked the green belt!). But I knew she wouldn't win, she just didn't branch out enough...

After seeing Jeffrey & Uli I was CERTAIN Uli had it in the bag! Every single outfit was cute & shit & WEARABLE, very nice. I was about half & half on Jeffrey's - the good stuff was REALLY good, some of the dresses were so so. But let's remember - they always judge on who's innovative, who's got an original perspective & a NEW voice. All of the past winners have been a little to the left - never predictable, never too safe. Jay, Chloe & now Jeffrey - same pattern.

At least now I'll know who'll win next year by simply looking @ the collection It's not about who's most well liked, it's about originality & risk.
