Old Friends (Then & Now)

Then...

...Rockin' The Roxy in L.A. during the early 80s (before that pay-to-play crapola).

Once we discovered, that at that time, the record industry had no intentions of signing an all-Black Rock group, my friend Marcus moved to England.

He's lived...

...and performed there ever since.

This past week he came to the States for a much too brief visit.

Now...

...Less hair, older and wiser but can still Rock a house when necessary. headbang

Thats cool that u hooked up with ur old friend....it's one of the things that I dislike about being in the military.....you get sent all over the planet and you lose touch with the folks that were there when you were a short, skinny, uncoordinated goofus.....generally speaking of course...I would NEVER have fit that description....lol

....I miss my buds....especially the ones who still call N.O. home.... sigh

True to all of that, but he is still good looking and so are you!

As tA knows, I met Marcus in Atlanta a couple of years ago and he is also an extremely nice guy.....

Thanks for the update, tA. It is fun to see the two of you together after all these years. Long-term friendships are important to keep.

Actually, that's Lalomie Washburn.
She was a very close friend and writing partner of Chaka Khan

Unfortunately, she's no longer with us: http://www.prince.org/msg/8/116904
The 2nd background singer on that gig was supposed to have been N'dea Davenport.
She decided to take off for England and ended up with some band named The Brand New Heavies. rolleyes

Nice Fat Strat. nod

That's a homemade (down to the pickguard) FrankenStrat.
A Duncan Custom humbucker wired directly to the volume control.
Nice edge at full volume while retaining definition (unlike Dimarzios).
Back the volume off a bit at it's crystal clean.

Great Rock guitar. cool

I thought it might be custom. I guess the Fat Strat post-dated your Roxy days.

Not sure when that model was actually released.
I'm sure it was inspired by EVH. That's why I did it. wink
