No, but they're more than welcome to if they need a place to crash.

I finally saw Brokeback mountain last week. It was a decent movie.

Here’s a couple of opinions I have on the movie.

The Movie isn’t really a “gay” movie.
What I mean by this is that when I think of a gay movie, I think about “Billy’s Hollywood screen kiss” or “Trick”, or any number of dreadful Eddie Murphy flicks. I saw bits of each movie on HBO and was completely unable to sit through them. They were light, triffle, affairs with little or no emotional impact. There was no reason to care for the characters other than the fact that hey were overly good looking or charming.

Brokeback was a different type of film altogether. There are no witty drag queen segues, no gay friendly best female friends with wierd or stupid overly straight boyfriends, no high fashion elements, and no large roomy lofts in which the "struggling" characters somehow live. In fact, about 30 minutes into it, I found myself happy for the characters that they finally “did” it in that tent.

The Movie isn’t really sexually explicit – where’s the controversy?
When Enis finally pokes the other guy (I forget his name already :lol ) The buttfucking scene isn’t even intense. The extreme cowboy repression is evident in the way in which Enis plows into the other guy, but it’s simply neither shocking enough, nor striking enough to make the movie very controversial. It would have ..ahem.. driven to point home better if the good looking bottom screamed louder or said stuff like, “Oooh. It hurts… It HURTS!!!!”. But none of that took place.

The ending of the movie tells us little bout the journey Enis took or must take
Yeah, so the other guy dies. And Enis is left to ponder this. But he doesn’t come to any conclusions anymore than he did before the death. There’s no scene in which he finally realizes what he’s lost. No realization that he needs to change. The scene where he hugs the other guy’s shirt is touching, but doesn’t tell us much more than we already knew. The scene in which he agrees to go to his daughter’s wedding is a great step towards him softening up to his daughter, but it isn’t exactly a “coming out” of Enis. Perhaps it was meant to symbolize the fact that he realizes that he needs to appreciate those around him now, else he may live to regret it—I don’t know.

Either way, it ended on a disappointing note. Lastly, let me say that I HATE, I mean HATE romance in movies, so the repressed romantic undercurrent was kind of a nice touch for a love story.

My favorite scene in the entire movie is when the other guy tells his father-in-law the fuck off about the T.V. being on during thanksgiving dinner. I was totally like sayin, “YOU GO GIRL!!!!!” lol

Anyways, thanks for letting me express my thoughts. rolleyes

Bareback Mountain gets the award for most over-rated piece of boring crap ever.

Jake: Says nothing
Heath: Mumbles something
Jake: Says nothing for 50mins
Heath: Barely mumbles something for 50mins

(Jake and Heath have anal)

Jake: Let's carry on
Heath: Mumbles something
Jake: Do you reckon anyone will give a shit at the end of this movie?
Heath: Mumbles some more

(One of them dies but their characters are so flat and wooden, no-one gives a shit)

Heath: Hrmmph Mmmmbmmm Hrphmmmphm Mrrrmurrr
