Moms home cooking!

I went to visit my mom today. I haven't seen her in a while and she hasn't made a meal for me in over a month a half. I went over there to watch football and socialize and she hooked up a fat meal. I've had many delicious meals from resturaunts and other folks,, but nothing tastes better than a tasty goodness hot plate from your mom. I don't know if its psychological or just cause your so flipping hungry but moms home cooking is the best. Especially during holidays.

That sounds scrumptious. I love me a fluffy wholesome cake.

ok, I heart my mom to death, but her cooking... sadly she just isn't the world's best cook. I would never in a million years tell her that. But, well, that's just the way it is.
However, I will say it feels good to eat my mom's cooking. A meal prepared with love from your mom, regardless of the taste, is good for the soul. smile

I moved home - grudgingly - a few weeks ago, and while our timetables do clash and I wanna cook for myself sometimes, Its pretty damn good to come home to her same old same old cooking sometimes!

Must be an American thing confused Are they like Filou pastry, just flaky pastry cake things? We used to make them, in that we just made pastry and put jam (jelly) on it and stuff!

Looks good thumbs up!

My mother's not the most adventurous cook - it was years and years before I tried LOADS of stuff; I think I had my first pizza at age 21 falloff and I still haven't eaten a banana confused - but what she makes, she makes brilliantly. I think she sticks to what she knows best. nod

omfg Oh my sweet lord Alun, youve never eaten a banana?! wacky

comfort

My mum could be quite adventurous, but only within her own comfort zone. She hates pasta, and there are some vegetables that she just never ate so Ive never really had them either. Or rather, I hadnt when I was younger, Ill try anything once now!

I know. redface lol

That's not my mother's fault - just I can't stand the texture or smell. I think I'd gag. There are loads of things I haven't tried, in fact - plums, for example. giggle

I highlighted that bit because my mother is exactly the same - she stays within her comfort zone, food-wise. And I think that rubbed off on me a little. nod I was always the kid who would say "I don't like it" confused lol then, when asked if I'd ever tried it, would reply "No". boxed falloff But I'm far more adventurous these days - certain things I definitely won't like but there are loads of things I've tried in just the last couple of years. nod I won't tell you what; you'll think they're pathetic. lol

falloff Plums and bananas!!

Oh you are awful! But I like you smile

You eat whatever you like my dear hug Its all relative! I only realised in the last couple of years that my Mum was really crafty in saying that everything was really nice, and she liked all these things, when she didnt and it was a total lie, just to make me like it! But it worked!
