Parents: Do you have a Favorite child? I love all my 3 kids the same.
My wife and I swore to never allow ourselves to show preferencial treatment to any one of our kids, especially since we both grew up thinking that our siblings were the "favorites". BUT...every now & then we find ourselves gushing over our youngest more than the other two. There's just something about him that makes him stand out. Of course we are careful not to fall into that trap, and do our best to show them all the same amount of attention. Anyone else struggling with this? Awww... If it's any consolation, we just found out that a boy in my daughter's class (1st grade...aged 6) calls her his "girlfriend". By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

I'm Mamma's boy,, my sis is Daddy's Girl all the way! I mean I love my parents, but its so obvious who they favor its ridiculous. I could murder someone in front of my mom and she would cover for me. My sister could kick infants in the jaw and my dad would be like, "shes just expressing her anger in a healthy way!" Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

I have heard of parents going so far out of their way to compensate for their feelings of favoring one child over the other, that the favorite child ended up growing up thinking their sibling was the favorite it's the same as anywhere, you like people better because you get along better, have common interests etc. Your kids are no different. I love all of my kids the same amount, but my eldest is a great companion, very easy going and interested. The next child has a way of talking (whining and screaming) that gets my back up. The baby is so cute and angelic still so he is my favorite, but I am sure that will change lol
