Which celebrity do you love?

What is your honest and detailed opinion of Trent Reznor and nine inch nails?

I guess I don't love any celebritys really. I have lusty crushes on gael garcia bernal and cillian murphy and tim burgess and so on and folks like that, but my obsessions with pop/rock stars has kinda faded away.

Once upon a time I was a huge NIN fan. When I was in high school I ADORED Pretty Hate Machine. I still do. I remember feeling all cool going to Sunday Night Dance Party at First Avenue (their all ages dance nights back then) wearing my black on black NIN shirt and a black pleated skirt with silver sparkly tights with fishnets over them and my green Doc Marten boots and dancing like crazy. I thought I was the shit. And I was. giggle
And then a few more albums came out and I liked them. And I saw him perform on a triple bill with Hole and Marilyn Manson and I worked my way to the crazy pit at the front where I could barely breathe but I'd gotten within 4 feet of him for a few minutes before I couldn't take the pit anymore and worked my way back towards the back again. And then somewhere after Downward Spiral I just lost touch with it all. I don't dislike anything new, I'm just not an angsty teenager anymore so it doesn't resonate with me as it did then. I still love the older material, and I still think its brilliant, but I still listen mostly for nostalgia.

So there. That's me and NIN.

And up rises my respect for Carrie.

You need to hear "Purest Feeling" - the Pretty Hate Machine demo sessions. It's brilliant.

Have you listened to With Teeth or The Fragile? They're far less angsty. Trent's relatively happy now he's off the horse and the bottle.

I would love to hear those demos. smile I haven't really looked at anything of his in years. I've heard bits of The Fragile that a friend played for me... You're probably right, I should go back and check some of it out again. But lately I've been feeling more indie singer/songwriter and strangely enough vintage Etta James.
Perhaps when I get in a different mood. So maybe soon. smile

Thank you. smile

My friend Rick does my hair exclusively and has for many years. He was trained at Vidal Sasoon Academy in LA. He got a scholarship and stipend from his tribe (he's native american) to go, but he was never able to work while he was out there and his stipend barely covered rent and materials (scissors are massively expensive!). I would send him money to eat or go out once in a while while he was there. And he's a sweetheart and has never forgotten that. So no matter where he's worked, I pay him and not the salon he works for. It works out well for both of us as he gets a bit more than he would normally and I get a really good deal.
If he ever moves away I don't know what I'll do, cause I'd be paying $200+ about every 6 weeks for the services he provides and I cannot afford that. Of course, I can't afford to have bad hair either. giggle
Here's an old pic of me and him. smile

I think you like to have fun.
I think you have a silly sense of humour and that its contagious.
I think you're a nice person.
I think you can be a bit naive, but you're not afraid of learning things, not afriad to ask questions and try to be open.
I think you're going through a rough time of things right now, but from the bits and pieces I've read, you're doing what is best for you.
I think you're probably a good mother, doing the best you can for your kids.
I think you're smarter than you let on, perhaps smarter than you think you are.
I think I like you. smile

Or maybe just good old ice cream. All ice cream, so I could eat it with impunity.

Well, thanks. smile

I feel like I haven't made much progress in the last 2 months, but I haven't regressed either (as I've only lost about 5 pounds in that time). As of today I'm offically at 40.5 pounds lost and I have no idea what size clothes I wear. It seems as soon as I buy new clothes, within a few weeks they seem too big. I think part of it is I just don't know when things fit me right or not. I don't try on small enough clothes. I think, though, that while I'm not losing pounds in numbers, my body is getting smaller. Its weird. I feel like I've been eating poorly for too long now, but I'm still slowly losing wieght and changing shape, so I'm still doing something right. I think my perception of 'eating poorly' has changed dramatically too. lol My portions are well under control and I make good choices at least 2/3 of the time. So that's something.

Since you said 'lover' and not 'partner' or 'boyfriend' I'm gonna answer it that way. They have a lot of the same qualities, but aren't exactly the same. For me, a lover is someone to have a passionate affair with, not necessarily someone I want to spend the rest of my life with.
Charm, a winning smile, dark eyes or alternately sparkly eyes that make me melt when he looks at me, passion, dominance, romance and a certain quirkiness/uniqueness.
