Birth control question for the org ladies Do any of you have the IUD? I just started taking the pill again and I'm not happy with the way I feel. I did some research and found out some symptoms that I have may be from being on the pill for so long. So I'm looking into another form of B.C. and I'm curious about the IUD. Can anyone tell me anything about it??

A girlfriend of mine had it, but had it taken out I believe.
Sorry I don't have more info. I can't take the pill AT ALL. I've tried several different ones and I get mega depressed from it. It's no good. |

All I know is that every time my friend got hers removed, she got pregnant She had it removed 4 times, she has 4 children You might want to look into a low dosage pill Some people cant handle the pill at all. "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...NOBODY!"

My wife and I've never used the female birth control, nor do we most often use birth control of any type. However there is a system with control that works well for us. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

getting back on topic ( i found some info, not sure if it's just the same old you've been reading, but i dont know anyone that's ever had it before, though, i will ask around What are the chances of getting pregnant while using an IUD? Copper: Typical use: 0.8% Perfect use: 0.6% Progesterone: Typical use: 2% Perfect use: 1.5% Advantages to using an IUD? With an IUD in place, the female does not have to think about using contraception when having sex, or every day in the case of the pill (although she should use other means to prevent against STDs). The IUD does not change the hormone levels throughout the body as do other contraception methods such as the pill. The cost of the copper IUD can be low in the long run compared to birth control methods that must be purchased more frequently. Disadvantages to using an IUD? Menstrual cramps may increase. Bleeding may occur between periods. Periods may be heavier and last longer. This may cause anemia. Increases risk of serious infection (PID) and sterility. IUD may fall out. Pregnancy while using the IUD, although rare, may be dangerous and lead to infections or ectopic pregnancies.

I still don't quite understand the IUD. Does it irritate the lining of the uterus thus making implantation almost impossible? I really don't understand how that thing works.... 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

My girlfriend has one. She said getting it put in was very painful & kind of traumatic.
She had spotting for a long time, they said it would happen for about 6 months! At first she regretted it, but I think she's getting used to it. Her periods are much reduced, and she was told they might disappear altogether. Also there are two types. One has hormones just like the pill, i believe, one is copper? It's pretty pathetic that the choices are so limited, and MY only choices are condom or vastectomy! Thanks a lot for making it so easy for me to be responsible! [Edited 9/21/06 15:20pm] My Legacy
