I've never really had a problem finding a job...they always found me.
The longest I've ever been outta work was the two months after I moved back to WI, but that was kinda by choice.

hopefully find another job asap... as I'm backpacking on the other side of the world without funds to get myself home (yet) that's kinda a scary thought lol

I'd write a book, make some paintings or other art stuff I guess.

I always have at least $5k back in savings. That's how I get through the hard times. If I take some out, I replenish it as soon as I can. So, I'd have that to help me get by til I found a new job. And I'm not afraid to draw unemployment. This one's for you.

i've always been able to fall back on something. fortunately i work in a field where not just any schmoe can apply for what i do (though lord knows i've seen my bosses try to train more than their fair share of clueless schmoes), so when a position opens up in my field, i have the years of experience and skill to be a front-runner for the job. as long as major metropolitan cities have law firms, i'll always have my pick of jobs.

You work in a field??? Like this?

Honest answer? I have no idea.
But, like Anx says, what I do isn't by any means rocket science but even my own bosses don't know how my section works. So whilst I'm not indispensible, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot to get rid of anyone in my team. I suppose I'd just go out and find another job. Sounds like a good idea, really. Do it! I can't wait until my contract expires. My boss phoned me yesterday. I think she was angling to see if I'd be coming back before my notice is up. I'm still currently on holiday until tomorrow. There's no way I'm going back for two weeks - I may go back for one week. I neecd to get my blood pressure down. I don't care what they think of me anymore.

Thanks for the encouragement, Justin. I don't want to say too much as I'll end up cursing myself. I've been saying I'll leave since Day 1 of this job. But the time is approaching - I have no regrets as such but I will do at some point if I don't find something I enjoy. I hope everything works out for you. I've seen your comments here recently - good luck. Cheers.

I would go get any old job 2 pay the bills (Starbucks or something) while searching 4 a new jobby-job 2 match what I was making before.
Can't get 2 attached 2 a job. The only constant in life is change and nothing is 4ever work-wise, especially in America. There is no such thing as "job security" here. Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917
