what restrictions are in place. Can you take camera's/ mobile phones / mini disc players with you in your hand luggage?

I know no gels or liquids.

Please advise!

I was flying in and out of Belfast regularly ovet the last couple of months, and it really depends. Sometimes they were very lenient, not even searching me, sometimes they took my lipsalve away, saying it was liquid!

As far as I know you are allowed all usual electrical equipment now though

Flown a few times since the change and it can depend. Generally no sharp objects, gels or liquids that you can't take a swig from. Some airlines have reduced the hand luggage size (to about the size of a standard small rucksack) and I think this is going to become a permanent change. Electrical items were permitted 4 days after and I have not heard that this has been revoked.

Basically if you don't really need it with you check it, saves a lot of time at security too.
