How do you get rid of these people? I've lived at my place for almost two years now, and there's this crazy old woman on the second floor that will not leave me alone. I live on the third floor so I have to pass by her door to get in and out of the place

Every time I go in or out of the building she comes running out of her apartment, stands in the hallway glaring at me and sighs really loud, doing anything she can to get me to acknowledge her.

She follows me to and from my car, follows me to the dumpster when I'm taking out the trash, stays a few steps behind me, and pretends like she just happens to be outside going for a walk.

Several times I've been sitting on my couch watching TV, and noticed her standing outside staring up towards my balcony window, she'd stand there for like 10 minutes just staring. Now I have to shut my damn blinds because she's creeping me out.

She's followed me to stores when I go shopping, then followed me back to the apartment as I come home, so she can *just happen* to run into me as I'm walking back to the apartment. The other day I caught her doing this again, so I immediately pulled out of my garage, and left again. When I came back 30 min later, the nutcase was still sitting in her car waiting, and she gets out as soon as I park again.

Now today, I stopped into the landlords office to ask them something, and she followed me there too!

When I first moved to the place, I would be polite and chat with her a bit just out of courtesy, then when it started to become apparent that she's a complete nutcase, I decided I was going to completely ignore her and not acknoweledge her any more, which I've been doing, but she won't freaking go away.

File a reprot with the local police ?

or perhaps mention to her that if she doesnt stop you are going to file a stalking report ?


thats just so weird... but i would have to do something about it ... it isnt right she treats you that way

maybe she learned from watching your dogs. give her a cookie, see what she does.

You could try to out-crazy her (ask for her opinion on your satanic cult, christian cult, meth habit, yoga habit--whatever she would be scared or offended by), but it sounds like you're not trying to hurt her or have to change your behavior.

a) she may be looking for sacktime

b) she may have the onset of dementia/alzheimers. going through the landlord is a good first step, and perhaps there's an office of the aging in your town?
