As for The Champ... Nat, just watch it. Please. And report back. lol I challenge you NOT to cry at that one. nod

Man that young ricky shroeder when he breaks down at the end of the movie. Reminds me of my grandpa who was a boxer, tough guy w/ a heart of gold.

I hate to admit it buut I cried during Titanic. I think the movies themselves don't affect me as much as the lost loves they remind me of.

Miggy, you ever see "The Edge Of Seventeen"? That's my new favorite movie. I could relate to EVERYTHING that guy went through. It was like watching a biography on my coming out. That teared me up GOOD.

I could SOOOOO relate to that movie. I grew up/came out in Ohio during the 80's, not too darn far from OSU, and went through a similar number of experiences.

I haven't seen that movie in ages but it really was a great, yet saddening, movie. What was that line that Alice(??) says about... "I know I'm not 17 but I need to be..." or some such. It's been soooo long.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Stepmom with Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. That scene between them in the restaurant really gets to me.

God, I haven't seen it for years but I bet I'd still weep buckets if I saw it. bawl

And that description of your grandpa sounds like my mate's dad, who's a boxing trainer. You wouldn't want to mess with him but he's a real gent - a lovely guy. nod

I haven't seen it for a while either but it's such a beautiful, touching movie. And the fact that it's a true story... cry It's heartbreaking.sad

I really like Robin Williams in his 'serious' roles. nod I think he's underrated - he just needs to make more films like this. nod
