In fact, she is going to solitary. I've led a rebellion and captured you, You are now tied up and being force fed gruel. "Please LleeLlee, can I have some more?"

..and the guards took themselves very seriously and actualy beat up the prisoners. They seriously believed they were guards? we watched this experiment in college. it was truly fucked up in every sense of the phrase. just reading about it on wikipedia is making my stomach turn. on a "happier" note...Zimbardo, the man who ran the experiment, ended up marrying his intern who told him that he needed to end this sick shit. ah love... even though they all knew it was an experiment the reactions from guards and prisoners are disturbing but also predictable, for instance, "Zimbardo said prisoners reacted in one of three ways: either by actively resisting, by breaking down as in the above image, or by becoming zealously obedient "model prisoners". The "guards" were sadistic as you might expect. It's interesting because it shows how prison is more a psychological state rather than a physical one (in this experiment at least,) see his comments about the "prisoners" coping mechanisms. I just wonder why they (the prisoners) endured it knowing they could leave at any time. btw, this thread wasn't about the experiment but inspired by Big Brother lol. ... [Edited 7/27/06 11:13am]

frankly, neither. but if i had to choose i'd be a prisoner because no one would expect me to follow 'the rules', which might be the kind of rules i'd break anyway. as a prisoner i expect i'd have total intellectual autonomy and would also make my escape ASAP whenever i got the chance.
