I think the domination/submission factor can be a major turn-on in the bedroom when done right. I'm not strictly one or the other though. Most of the time I like to be the one taking the initiative and pushing the boundaries like you say, but other times I think it's exciting to be passive and get surprised by my own reactions when she does something unexpected.
