actually, to be honest, when i'm on the train i always stand. when i'm on the bus, if i can't have a one-seater, i stand. i don't like sitting next to people if i can help it, i get creeped out easily in that situation. and if a prego lady wants my one-seater, well, that's a shame. lol

You're probably one of those people who, if they GET the 2 seater, they sit on the outside and never scoot over for someone who needs a seat! mad

That's not what the topic is about. It's giving up your seat for those who have some kind of condition. Women get pregnant, men don't. If the guy is handicapped in some way, maybe he would be on equal terms.

This topic is not about you. I had a feeling you'd post some bullshit like this.

Personally, I think folks should always give up their seats to anyone with a disability, special condition (like pregnancy), or if they are elderly.

clapping I agree.

I do that when I ride the bus system. nod It does not bother me to give up my seat to someone who has a disability or is elderly, etc. It's called common courtesy and good manners.

He's referring to male/female equality. This is about giving up a seat to someone with a condition (pregnancy, etc.). He's trying to turn the topic into one about him and his own opinions about all women yet AGAIN. Don't let him! lol

I didn't see any "rules" regarding the conversation. He mentioned that see doesn't see any reason for men to give thier seat to women on public transportation. To me the conversation is about coutesies we lend or not lend to other people in public places. WHile, he did use said topic to expound his disdain towards women, he did keep it within the topic. He didn't even thread jack! I think some of us are way too sensitive regaring comments by certian orgers.

I mean if all topics are to be "within conversation" we should shut down all threads where Imago turns them into gay conversations with Jerskrs.

just sayin.

I'm the same. redface

I hate sitting next to the window. (A) because it gets too hot if it's sunny and (B) I'm quite tall and hate being cramped into that tiny space. I can't get my legs in! lol If someone wants the seat next to me, I get up and they can have it.

It's the same when I book a train seat - I always make sure I have one next to the aisle. nod I can stretch my legs a bit.

I think it's pretty cold not to. A friend of mine just gave birth & during the later months of her pregnancy she was tired, her back hurt, she had a hard time keeping her balance - it's new weight they're carrying & it throws their bodies out of whack sad

I know people choose to become pregnant but dammit none of you fuckers would be here if your mom's hadn't become pregnant - many (if not most) women go through this @ some point in their lives. It can be challenging for them physically. I have no problem giving up my seat, what's the big fucking deal shrug

i like having an aisle seat because when the trip is over, my attitude is that it's TIME TO GO. i hate being trapped in a window seat because the person in the aisle seat is taking their damn sweet time piddlefarting around while i could be in the process of getting off the bus/plane. if you wanna sit around and organize your purse or play video pokemon or whatever, that's great. don't trap me in my seat in the process. that's why i always sit in the aisle or the outside seat. cuz people more often than not are PIDDLERS.

ALSO: i can't STAND it when i'm in the inside seat and i want out and the person in the outside/aisle seat doesn't even bother to move! worse is when they wiggle their knee a little bit to kinda give the impression that they've made an effort to move for me, but it doesn't do a damn bit of good! lol

too many reasons to take that outside seat. but better to just stand.

All valid reasons. nod And I can tell you love public transport. nod giggle

I was going to ask if you fancy going travelling, Anx, but - since we both need the aisle seat - I'm not sure it'll work. confused I could always sit opposite. Or have the window seat. But then I'd piddlefart all the way and watch your reaction. giggle

well i give up my seat for anyone who needs it 'cause i know how it feels. i remember once being about 7 months preggers on the 'el' all the seats were full and i was one of the few standing up. i started to feel sick 'cause of standing so long and almost past out. not one person offered their seat.and thats okay. but i had to get off at the next stop (which wasn't mine) just to sit down. i was late for work but i was feeling so bad i had to sit down.
