Scarlett's Next Big Film: The Black Dahlia

After Scoop, that is. Hartnett is in this one, though. And DePalma hasn't made a good film in forever.

The link is for the trailer, btw.

Yep. I have a DVD that tells the story of this, the pictures of her face were downright freaky, like a grin carved from ear to ear.

Ah, that explains the final shot in the trailer.

Is that dvd still available? I think I'd love the documentary on this more so than movie.

Scarlett's not playing the black dahlia. It's some other chick who I haven't seen before.

I know...the lady from L-word is. Scarlett's name is too big to have her killed off early in the film. I was looking at Mia's IMDB file to see what else she had played in and she was in "Are You Afraid of the Dark". I used to love that show as a kid and watched it every Saturday night. They need to bring it to dvd.

It was part of a DVD box set with ghost stories, there's like 5 DVD's total, each one of them has a bunch of different ghost stories, one of them being about her. I picked it up at Best Buy years ago, not sure if they still carry it.

Cool...thanks I'll search for it. I didn't know her story was considered a ghost story....I do think it's an interesting murder case especially for it's time. Nowadays you hear tell of mutilated bodies and a lot of people's reactions are "shrug eh, whatever people are crazy"

They just don't kill people like they used to.

This film is based on James Ellroy's novel, which is a fictionalized account of the events. As I understand, the novel takes some liberties with the story, and speculates on who the killer was (the real murder was never solved, and remains an open case).
