My boss gave me this assignment today.
Burn the sound from two video files onto a CD.
One of them is on our client's website.
The other is on a DVD in the office.
I can't figure out for my LIFE how to do this.
I thought it would be easy.
So far I'm just terribly confused.

You'll probably need to record the sound from the internet clip manually, you can rip the audio off the DVD with some software you can download from the web though (but I think it's still easier to record it manually just as well, than having to rip off the whole audio track and then searching for the right bits).

Just tell your boss that it's not as easy thing to accomplish that he probably thinks it is, especially if your workplace computers don't have audiocards that are capable of sharing the drivers between multiple programs. If they have recent Soundblasters though it can be handled with the "record what I hear" -option in the mixer (or whatever it's called these days on that line of products).

Heres what I usually do:

Put the DVD in my DVD-player on my computer; record the sounds via a program called Total Recorder; then use another program called Cool Edit to edit up; then burn it on Nero (or whatever Cd-burning program)

This was a totally outlandish experience for me.
Just like most of the work I do at that office.
And yeah ... my boss was thrilled at the no money spent option.
Raise? No. I didn't get one!

Not even a $30 bonus for the money I saved not buying software.
Oh well ... that's the breaks!!
