A while back I ordered DNA testing kits from africanancestry.com. The PatriClan kit studies the Y chromosome(passed down from father to son) to determine paternal ancestry. The MatriClan kit studies MitochondrialDNA(which we inherit from our mother, her mother, etc.) to determine maternal ancestry.

According to the test results, I share paternal genetic ancestry with the Nkonya people in Ghana, and maternal genetic ancestry with the Serer people in Senegal.

Well, I did, as well, and I recieved my test results back today!

Y chromosome sequence is 100% the same as sequences from people living in China.

I had no idea! African, Native American, European, Latin I knew about. This is even better!...

I'm a African-Indian-European-Chinese-Latina!!
