I NEED TO VENT!! Okay,
I walk into work today. The head honcho says that we have a Paralegal Intern starting today. I HAVE TO TRAIN HER. I don't mind that but I WAS NEVER TRAINED and I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO PREPARE ANYTHING FOR HER. Ughhhh. Did I mention that they haven't hired me yet, after 2 years!!!! Ugh, there, I feel much better..... M MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! oh, they're always having me do impromptu trainings at my job. last week, our office had an impromptu open house where we had to come up with presentations for a visit from the bigwiggiest of the bigwigs. and then they wonder why our quality isn't quite up to par.

M bummer. management should train people in. how can you work for a place for two years and not be hired? in some states 'temps' automatically become staff after a certain time period. if i remember correctly in MN after three months of full-time employment a temp is considered 'hired'

[Edited 6/20/06 10:00am] Or, you can do what most of us would do, which is get her trained just well enough that you can claim to have done the job, and then get back to work, and hope that she screws up bad enough to make you look good as an employee, but not so bad that they think you're a terrible trainer. I've always hated doing training. You have to do your own work, PLUS somebody else's, and they never give you extra time or money to do something that is a royal pain in the ass. . . bah! oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

i think its time to move on... i bet that lill voice has been telln U that... they are going to just pass you off and make U work ur ass off for what??? i would put it all on the table n say put up n hire me or get someone else to train since i am not valuable enough to be an employee here
how's that If U don't know someone with Autism....... U will...... April is Autism awareness month.... please get involved....

Thanks for letting me vent.
I'm not the kind of person to continue bitching about things. I vented here and let it go. I told my boss that it was all good. I met her. I love her. She's very intelligent. Everything is going well. I've been trained by people that bitch the entire time. "Why do I have to train her. I have so many other things to do." I hated when that happened. I truly don't mind training someone it's just that I wish they would have at least given me a days notice. Not an hours notice. The reason I haven't been hired is because of budget reasons. They keep flip flopping me from different status so that they can keep me. I NEED BENEFITS THOUGH. M MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! M Damn mate From your post I guessing it's a different system of employment in the U.S. In the U.K. you procure certain rights as an employee if you've been hired for over 12 months, in fact if I'm not mistaken your employer is actually obliged to give you a non-temporary contract.
