Is that an Oxy-Moron of a title? Are there any good ones?

Yesterday on Northworst, I was delayed beyond delayed! My first flight was delayed an hour and a half thus me not being able to connect to my next flight. So they put me on the flight after that (though I am guessing that all flights were delayed and I could have made it out of there on time). The next flight out was ALSO delayed. I didn't get back home until after midnight. I can say though I got upgraded to 1st class on the final leg of the trip.

So it's after midnight and I am waiting for my luggage

and waiting....

and then I see the dreaded LAST BAG luggage. I was tired, hungry and now upset. I almost didn't have a way of getting home. I seriously will never fly them again if I can help it.

I did get my luggage today...they dropped it off at my work...but they can still SUCK IT!

NWA is Horrible...one of the worst airlines ever....this thread should be titled Northwest airlines sucks! I will never fly them again.

A few years ago we flew Northwest to Kalamazoo (SF to Memphis to Detroit to Kalamazoo) and they lost our luggage, well actully we made the connecting flight in Detroit, our luggage did not. So we had to go back to the Kalamazoo airport at midnight to pick up our luggage that finally arrived several hours later.

However I will say just this last April we flew Northwest from SF to Hawaii and back and had no problems at all.

Plus they pipe in some crap ambient-sonic music...

Northwest is based in Mpls so I often fly with them and I have to say, I've only ever had one problem. And that was a plane that the AC didn't work while we were waiting to take off. The rest of the flight was fine.

Yeah, I haven't been impressed with NWA.

I like Hawaiian and Alaska. Which, of course, are two pretty useless airlines for most people.

I found ATA to be better than NWA for midwest flights, though they're both pretty generic.

I have had problems with NWA too

the airline would probably run better if it was actually run by n.w.a.

Never had a problem with Northwest.

On our last trip from Boston to Cleveland, though, my family had a U.S. Airways connecting flight in Philly. The plane was delayed 4 times, and each time assigned to different gates around the airport. From the sheer walking back and forth with carry-ons and a tired 5-year-old, we were exhausted when we got out of Philly about 5 hours after we were supposed to.

Never once were we given an official explanation. We had to go around asking multiple U.S. Airways employees what was going on, and we got about 4 different answers.

And they offered no recompense, either. We heard a rumor that the airline was offering meal vouchers, and we went to management and had to pretty much pry some out of them. Turns out the vouchers were for something like $10 bucks (which doesn't go far at overpriced airport eateries), and the majority of the restaurants wouldn't honor the vouchers because U.S. Air was in bankruptcy!! We ended up getting greasy sandwiches from some nameless joint... and waiting another hour before we'd be in the sky.

I love Northwest Airlines....when I lived in Minneapolis...never had a problem taking them anywhere...now when I fly home, I always try to fly Northwest...sorry your experience was so bad....

United is way worse.

Key...short flights. SW is good for that. It's when you take the longer ones with them, it gets all janky!
