sarah silverman's "jesus is magic"

Has anyone seen this film? I saw it on DVD this week and I thought it was a RIOT.

I knew I'd like it, just because it was directed by Liam Lynch, who's never steered me wrong with the funny before...and his sensibility works perfectly with her stand-up comedy routine.

The film is a lot like Sandra Bernhard's "Without You I'm Nothing" - it's generally a comedy concert with musical interludes and scripted vignettes, but Sarah goes a bit more, uhhh..."out there". The vignettes are more fantasy-based, and her material is - believe it or not - far more edgy than Sandra's (not to take away from Sandy, she's still one of the best).

I'm all about Sarah and her potty-mouthed self. I mean, she manages to build a comedy routine around 9/11, the holocaust and porn, and she's able to be funny and thought-provoking at the same time without being hokey or needlessly offensive.

And if you're a Mr. Show fan, a few cast members show up in the film.

Good stuff! thumbs up!

Anyone seen it?

I looooove her, but I would've been happier with just the stand-up. The musical bits weren't funny at all.

I don't even know if she's funny. But I would do anything to have sex with her. I would even kiss Bea Arthur.

It's dangerous to drunkenly post whatever's in your head at 2 in the morning. Just sayin'.

"Give the Jew Girl Toys" is her only good song, although "You're Gonna Die Soon" has its moments.
