Marvel comics fans - Civil War

Is anyone following this story? Is it any good? I haven't bought comics in years, but this series seems intriguing... What do yall think?

I've only read the first issue. Too soon to form a real opinion at this point, but interesting so far. Spider-Man will reveal his identity to the world supposedly.

Already done... As a matter of fact, it lists in Yahoo's Most Popular news stories.

I'm just gald he's back in the good ol' Red & Blue costume; not that ridiculous "Spider Armor" that Tony Stark created for him.

i picked up a preview flyer in a zine shop a while back and was intrigued by it, so i bought the first issue. i think the art is AMAZING - the detail is great, while at the same time very "comic book" and fun. the writing - eh, it's okay - but the story is interesting...the government cracking down on the civil liberties of superheroes...it's a good read, and i've always loved comics that feature every superhero under the sun. it's so economical that way - you get all the superheroes at one low, low price. lol

well, not THAT low. but for having all the superheroes in it, it's cheaper than buying each character's comic.

Sounds interesting. I remember Secret Wars II(The Beyonder), Infinity Gauntlet and Scourge from when I read comics.

they'll probably have the beyonder come back in their sequel miniseries "secret civil war" and he'll do a memory wipe on everyone on earth. and he'll still have the mullet and the white aviator jacket.

I really like crossovers... I got into Marvel during the "Acts of Vengeance"... The first comic I bought was with Spiderman vs. the Trapster, where Spidey went cosmic. Great fun! biggrin

I have 2 admit that i was more in2 DC these last years & Civil War seems 2 b DA BOMB which gonna make me come back 2 Marvel. I 'll b buying it & every tie-in in TPB as soon as it gets released under that form. Right know i just have 2 finish buying the whole Identity/Infinite Crisis TPB's.

By the way, if u guys have 2 read one WONDERFUL comic-book 2 discover or rediscover the super-hero genre, my advice would b the Luna Brother's Ultra (super-hero soap-opera, great!!!) & the amazing Identity Crisis, probably even better than Watchmen!!!

i'm a life long DC fan and I bought the entire Identity Crisis affair and i do have to admit....i was very underwhelmed.

the stories were confusing, not enough action, the art was quite fragmented. i've had to re-read the entiere thing all th eway back to 2004.

hopefully Civil War will be good.
