Ever seen birds doing it ?

In my city's a big population of doves .
Although i've seen many attempts of male-doves approaching the female-doves with these bended and swollen necks ( which the females keep ignoring ) ,
the action never seems to happen .

I haven't seen birds getting it on but I have seen two birds kicking the shit outta each other. These guys were fighting on a sidewalk in the middle of downtown in the middle of the day. I yelled at them to break it but they refused to listen.

sounds like our house. our dining room has a sliding glass door out to the back deck. we have a HUGE birdfeeder on the railing and every now and then we see some 'dove love'.

makes for interesting dinner converstaion.

I think I saw it once, but it seemed to happen over & over and only take 1/2 a second each time at best. The one kept jumping on the other's back just like in those pictures. This was after a long courtship ritual wher two birds kept calling while holding bugs in their beaks as an offering to the female. It was like a nature video outside my window.

So, birds do it doggie style too? hmm

Yesterday, two birds must have been fighting over a worm on our roof.
They fell off the roof...we heard a THUD...and my son screaming for help.

My black labrador was gettin' ready to pick one up in his mouth.

Apparently, one bird was fighting so hard for that worm that he forgot to
flap his wings and landed SMACK on my patio. Poor thing died with the worm
in his mouth. confused
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
