Did a quick search and came upon this:

"Apple Store Mac Genius told me to give my sad face 4th gen iPod a sharp knock on its longer side (ie the face where the plastic meets the metal). He took it out to the back of the shop, administered the necessary treatment and sure enough, it now works.

iPods are apparently highly susceptible to changes in weather and temperature conditions. This causes the sad face icon because the hard disk sticks, requiring that it is dislodged by knocking it.

THe Genius also told me that this might now become a recurring fault."

I heart Mac Geniuses.

I don't know....but my Music Quiz game doesn't work anymore...not that I ever used it, I just hate having an iPod that doesn't fully function. It always says "error:no songs found" confuse
