Shy is my nickname. We have a bunch of Shawn/Sean's in the family so we had to distinguish ourselves when we got into trouble. My cousins picked it for me.

Boring explanation... (like the name itself)...

Like a lot of people, when I tried to register, virtually every single name I wanted to use had already been taken. I was wracking my brain for ages until I just thought I'd use the title of his latest album, 'One Nite Alone', then change it at a later date.

Then I realised you can't change your username so I've been stuck with it ever since.

there's no real solid meaning behind my choice of username. i just liked the X and the Y in the word "anxiety" and i thought it was vague/evocative enough to stick in people's minds. then people started calling me anx and anxy and anxypants, so it just stuck.

my middle name is natsume, which is Japanese for "jujube fruit."



when my older sister went off to college, she used her Japanese middle name as her college email address. so I followed suit when I went off to college, and I've used it as my handle ever since. when the name is taken, I use natsunami instead.

My old name, mrdespues, was because I am male and the second part is the Spanish word for "after" or "later". The reason being? I felt like I had just gotten over a big change in my life when I first signed up on the org about 4 years ago... hence, it was me later, or after certain events. I'm not Spanish or anything though. Just liked the word. Despues was also the title of a song I wrote.

But I decided to change to JPW because I got a lot of abuse as mrdespues and felt the need to distance myself from that persona. So JPW is just the intials of my name.
