I kind of wanted the Pistons in there just to make up for the title they should have had last year. Damn Ginobili and his soccer playing-- flopping ass. Anyway, I'm glad Dallas beat the Suns since my Lakers couldn't make it. Let's face it, nobody wants to see a million pick-and-rolls which is all the Suns can do if the other team decides to play a little transition D.

I don't know if I'll root for Pat Riley, G.P, and Shaq or Dirk and Avery. I'm leaning towards Dallas since Shaq got fat and lazy on us (the Lakers) and then decided to get into basketball shape all of a sudden to prove a point.

Lookit, I've been a Laker fan ever since Kevin McHale clotheslined Kurt Rambis in the 1984 Finals. But they made the worst trade in modern league history by trading Shaq for a buncha dudes. Yes -- until Odom becomes a first-team All-NBAer -- a buncha dudes.

Wouldn't YOU be mad if you were a HOFer with some tread left on the tires, led your team to a threepeat, and your team decided to trade you away, for nothing, without talking to you about it beforehand? Isn't that motivation enough? Wouldn't going to a team and a city that actually REALIZED they needed you to win a title re-energize you?

Shaq's faults aside, he doesn't deserve the most blame for the fall of the Lakers.

Prime suspect No.1 is Kobe Bean Bryant, who forced the Lakers to make such a bad and hasty trade -- and force out their HOF coach -- before he'd re-sign. Now it's his team, for better or worse.

You're mad at the wrong guy.

This Laker fan is pulling for Shaq.

Mainly so that the NBA franchise I love most learns their lesson in the future: you win with S-T-A-R-S who know the concept of team.

Not a passive-aggressive prima donna who is under the false impression that he's better than Jordan.

I can't wait for Thursday's big hoops game! It's billboarded and advertized everywhere I go. The mall, the drive-through movie theatre, Wendy's and even the local halal butcher's shop.

As of yesterday I've stocked up on potato chips, guacamole & pumpkin dip, soda and frozen french fries and chunky chicken drumsticks. It's gonna be awesome I'm thinking of hiring cheerleader for my living room.

However, it is almost impossible for me to reconcile my contempt at Kobe for triggering the self-destruction of a franchise with my love of the Lakers. I am a Lakers fan IN SPITE OF Kobe. I can't even describe how angry I am that he triggered the exodus of Shaq and Phil. I won't even get into the other distractions he caused during the 03-04 season (for as much as I defended him that year).

It wasn't as prominent-- at least not in my time-- until Vlade Divac brought it over. Once players saw him getting calls others started getting into it. Suddenly Mugsy Bogues was knocking over Karl Malone (one of the best floppers). I can't stand that nonsense.

I'm picking on soccer players-- Ginobili in particular-- because they're notorious floppers and the way Ginobili does it is exaggerated like a soccer player. He was getting some questionable calls in the series with the Pistons that helped alter the outcome. That's not basketball. Fortunately, it seems the refs aren't falling for it as much these days.
