Damn, I hate the Pistons. They play dirty. Like how Chauncey Billups took out NJ's Richard Jefferson for the season last year. And that whole thing with the Pacers last season was orchestrated. Ben Wallace knew a fight was gonna break out. lol

I don't like the Spurs either. They win too much.

Hey, I'm not gonna get mad at a bull for charging people after I wave a red flag in front of it. lol

That whole thing was planned. It's like that year the Heat and the Knicks were in the playoffs and someone from the Heat started a fight and all the Knicks bench players ran onto the floor and got suspended and because of that the Knicks lost the series and got eliminated. Pat Riley planned that and the Knicks totally fell for it.

Anyway, back to watching 'X-Files'. lurking

I used to love that show! biggrin

That was probably the "greatest" sports brawl of all time. . . at least in America! I still watch it sometimes. It was just one thing after another.

*Newsflash*
The Pistons have been playing dirty since the 80's. This "new" team has learned from the old team...Joe Dumars is the President, Rick Mahorn and Bill Laimbeer are broadcasting and still very much involved with the players.
Same head, different hat.

What the Piston fans call great defense are actually uncalled fouls. I blame
the NBA front office, because every few years they think that 65 pt games are needed to intice the crowds... 125 pts a game were the norm in the NBA for a long time, until, you guessed it, the Bad Boys brand of basketball became popular. This sickens me to my core. Basketball is a game of skill and precise shooting, of moving without the ball and hitting the open man. Skill is what's needed, not goons who slow the game to a crawl.

Yep, my INNARDS (is that a word?) hate the Pistons for all of eternity, for what they have done to the game that I used to love.

RANT OVER!
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I watched the series when it was first run and I've seen the movie, but I was never into it that much to watch reruns or buy the DVDs. Maybe if there was a Joss Whedon connection. I love all things Joss Whedon.

Its DO OR DIE for my PISTONS tonight! And to my boy Revvie Rev, the PISTONS didn't ruin basketball. The rules in the NBA have changed since the late 80s. They can't get away with the same amount of roughness that they could get away with in the 80s/early 90s. The Pistons are whats beautiful in pro sports. Its all about the TEAM!!

Yeah, the whole team thing was great and worked oh so well for them, for a long time. They do seem out of sync right now. Wallace and Wallace rebound, outlet pass. A shut down defence and rain it down shooters like Billups and Hamilton. They are legends to me. I miss when they were running on all cylinders. This generation of Detroit Pistons are and always will be considered one of the greatest teams.

Right on. I think that championship swagger will be back tonight. These Pistons have a long long history of playing spectacular basketball while under pressure.
I dont see how anyone could hate the Pistons.

PLAYOFF SERIES: Eastern Conference semifinals; Cavaliers lead 3-2.

Rasheed Wallace guaranteed this series would not get back to Cleveland. Not only was he wrong, but the Cavaliers could oust the two-time defending Eastern Conference champions there.

In LeBron James' first trip to the NBA playoffs and his team's first in eight years, the Cavaliers can pull off one of the bigger postseason upsets in recent memory as they try to complete a stunning run of four consecutive victories over the Detroit Pistons.

A 21-year-old superstar and a Cleveland team making its first playoff appearance since 1998, and in the second round for the first time since 1993, are on the verge of knocking out a Detroit club that many favored to win the championship after finishing with the league's best record. The Pistons lost in Game 7 of last season's NBA Finals after winning the title a year earlier.

Last few games I've watched on ESPN here haven't been shown from the start. We get this same programme about street ballers and then it cuts in midway through the first quarter.

The game is in the 4th quarter now with only 2 minutes left. Pistons 81, Cavs 79.
