I hate scary movies--I rarely watch them...I'm such a wimp. (I think it's b/c my parents wouldn't let my brother and me watch them as kids.) But I have seen a few and one that still scares me is Candyman. I saw it in HS and was scared, then it was on TV when I lived in Chicago (where the film is set) and even though I was in my mid twenties, it was still too scary for me to watch in the middle of the afternoon!

BTW, I also got nightmares from reading Bram Stoker's Dracula (again in my mid 20s.) boxed

A real cat is eaten alive by purposely-starved rats in that movie. A real cat.

I certainly hope the proper authorities were notified. If that's true, that is so beyond sick I can't even comprehend.

co-sign... that's absolutely sickening. If it's true, the filmmakers ought to be in jail.

It makes me sick to think anyone would support something like that by paying money to watch it.

For me it's the Exorcist 1 & 3.

In the 70's there was a movie, I believe made for T.V., called LET'S SCARE JESICCA TO DEATH. I held on to that movie for a really long time. There's a part where a woman is walking out of a lake in a white gown. I was sooo scared of that image for years. I finally found the movie on VHS. The movie was still creepy and that scene still scared me.

The original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD.

The Entity

This film, though without a speck of gore, works so well because it examines every woman's deepest fear (being raped) and one of every human being's deepest fears: not being believed.

Barbara Hershey plays Carla Moran in this 1981 chiller, a single mom desperately trying to better her and her children's lives. Suddenly, she is the victim of mysterious, violent attacks by an unseen force, most of which happen in her bedroom. When the physical attacks go beyond to include sexual violation, the horror moves to an even more sickening level.

~And, I think this is a true story boxed
