Top 10 Coolest Movie Characters

File this one under the heading of "I'm procrastinating cuz I don't want to start a shitload of work I have to do":

What movie characters would fall under your "top 10 coolest"?...I'm not talking about the actors themselves, but the movie characters...

Mine:

10) Chili Palmer (John Travolta), "Get Shorty"

Always ridicously calm and always smiling...so cool he even makes minivans seem cooler than a Cadillac...lol

9) John Maclaine (Bruce Willis), "Die Hard"

Wise cracks while taking on a dozen terrorists singlehandedly...his "Yippie kay yay, mutherfucker" was perfection..lol lol

8) Trinity (Carrie Ann Moss), "The Matrix"

"Dodge this."...lol cool

Making Keanu Reeves look like a 10 year old girl isn't hard, but she even out-cools the perenially cool Lawrence Fishburne...

7) Virgil Tibbs (Sidney Poitier), "In The Heat Of The Night"

Achieves his coolness with intelligence and a (just barely) contained calm anger...And he smacks that bigoted fool right the f' back without hesitation...lol clapping

6) Terminator (Ahnuld), "The Terminator" and "Terminator 2"

Anyone who can calmly walk up to a beer-bellied redneck holding a double-barrel shotgun to his face and snatch that mf right out of his hands--AND take his damn sunglasses--deserves a spot on this list..lol thumbs up!

5) Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), "Alien" and "Aliens 2"

So cool she can take on a monstrous Alien and kick its ass wearing only a skimpy t-shirt and panties...and still come across as a badass lol nod

4) John Shaft (Richard Roundtree), "Shaft"

So much so that just his name alone automatically makes you think "cool" even 30 years later...

3) Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood), "Dirty Harry"

"I know what you're thinking punk. You're thinking did he fire six shots or only five?...To tell you the truth I forgot myself in all this excitement. But being this is a 44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and will blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: 'Do I feel lucky?'...

Well do you...punk?"

2) Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson), "Pulp Fiction"

When he said his wallet was "the one that says bad motherfucker", there wasn't a single person alive who didn't agrree...lol cool

1) Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart), "Casablanca"

Ugarte: "You despise me, don't you."
Rick Blaine: "Well, if I gave you any thought at all I probably would..."

Of the top ten most memorable lines in movie history, Rick Blaine probably said nine of them lol...so cool that when he wears a tuxedo, he makes James Bond in a tux look like a goofy prom date by comparison...so cool he lets the love of his life leave him forever for her own sake..and never looks back. Easily my #1 on the coolness scale. worship

A couple of my own:

Han Solo (Harrison Ford)

Coolest guy in space along with a kick-ass ship.

Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford)

Hoping for his return in Indy IV soon!

10) Douglas Quaid/Hauser (Arnold Schwarzenegger) from "Total Recall"

They stole his mind, now he wants it back.
Gives me nightmares.

9) Aeon Flux (Charlize Theron) from "Aeon Flux"

The "special" effects here are out of this world.

8) Abigail Whistler (Jessica Biel) from "Blade: Trinity"

The final hunt begins.

7) Sean Maguire (Robin Williams) from "Good Will Hunting"

6) Gandalf the Grey - aka Gandalf the White (Ian McKellen) from "The Lord of the Rings"

I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the flame of Anor. Go back to the shadow. The dark fire will not avail you, flame of Udûn! You shall not pass!

5) Captain Steven 'Steve' Hiller (Will Smith) from "Independence Day"

Just a very cool movie.

4) David (Haley Joel Osment) from "Artificial Intelligence: AI"

3) Kate "Acid Burn" Libby (Angelina Jolie) from "Hackers"

Their only crime was curiosity.

2) Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) from "Miss Congeniality"

I am in a dress, I have gel in my hair, I haven't slept all night, I'm starved, AND I'm armed! Don't MESS with me!

1) Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) from "The Bourne Identity"

Kiriyama (Masanobu Ando), "Battle Royale"

The scene where he walks calmly to the front of the room while dozens of students part like the red sea to let him pass says it all...so cool he doesn't have a single line of dialogue in the entire movie, his attitude speaking volumes instead...
