Nah, apart from being on the phone most of the day cos family insists on calling to congratulate... mom, sis, dad, auntie and if I'm unlucky my uncle too, who wouldn't know my bday from Xmas Day if it wasn't for my auntie poking him with a stick. Then of course I gotta talk to but that's hardly a chore I never get any presents on the actual day though cos nobody ever has any money then (in Sweden we only get paid once a month and it's NOT anywhere near the 14th) so I have to wait but I'll get a train ticket to visit my family and a DVD burner from my dad or if I opt for something else I get that instead but I don't know what to wish for that's in his price range

Sure, but get on the phone early on. People can be pretty fake online, but on the phone, in realtime, you get a pretty real picture of people. And steer clear of people who are hesitant to meet in person (under safe circumstances, of course). In my experience, those people don't really GET that they are talking to a real person. It's sort of antisocial play-dating to them.

I've met everybody I've dated online, with the exception of my first boyfriend (and later husband), 'cause the web was still pretty new when we met. I've certainly ended up going out with some people whom I might not have gone out with had I met them in a more conventional setting, but I think that's a good thing.

It's been normalized now. I can't tell you HOW many friends and associates I have that have linked up through the internet, some work, some don't -- just like any other connections.

I would be game for it if I found someone special that I really connected with. As long as it was on a forum like this where the person was not a complete stranger. I would not do an online dating service.

I just got back from a week out of the country with a man i met online I think its just great

I don't think I'm either for or against it. But it's as good a place as any to meet someone.
