I can't think of any other boys names, maybe Fred shrug

for a girl I wanted Olivia, but then everyone called their kid that in the last 5 years so I'm sick of it.
not sure if I will still go with Shamila now, I've had that up my sleeve for the last 2 kids.

If it was a boy: Jefferson, Oscar, Leighton.

If it was a girl: Summer, India, Monique.

I like...

For a girl:
Saffron (I can't BELIEVE someone else already said this one!!)
Rhiannon
Kadi (not "Katie," but rhyming with "body")
Mecca

For either:
Eden (pronounded "Aiden")

For a boy:
Gabriel
Simon
Aeon or Aion

...I also love Latin names like Gloria, Olivia, Victoria, Magnus or Ignatius, but they're way too dated nowadays, and nobody thinks about what the name actually means.
[Edited 4/29/06 0:44am]

Saffron and Rhiannon are lovely, makes me think of the 60s and of flowers. smile

I've always liked Gabriel for a boy's name too.

But I disagree that Gloria, Olivia and Victoria are dated, or at least too dated to use. I think they're beautiful and timeless. Magnus and Ignatius are definitely not common these days, but they are strong male names. I like them.

I tend to like unusual names too. For girls I like the names Cassandra and Annastesia (yes, like the Prince song! lol). I mentioned that in the chatroom once, and someone said, "Why would you name your kid that, it's too long?" Simple, I would just call her Anna for short . lol

For boys I like the names Travis and Tyler.

There are some unusual but nice names out there now, unlike when I was little, and everyone had the usual names that everyone else was naming their kids. lol smile
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I'm obsessed with baby names. I'm single and have no plans for kids anytime in the near future, but I have at least 15 baby naming books. I scan the announcements in papers and online in the search for new and unusual names, and to keep up with what's currently popular. I watch those birth shows on the women's channels just so I can find out what the kid was called. Sometimes if I don't like the name, I think, "Nine months and that's the best they could do?" I'm a dork. lol

Some of my faves, and yes I would actually bestow (or inflict lol ) these on a child: (warning, there's a lot!)

girls:

Azura
Bernadette
Bijoux
Cassiopeia
Dolores
Eleanora
Halo
Imena
Lilac
Lyric
Magnolia
Menelea
Phaedra
Roxanna
Ruby
Soleil
Tiara
Undene
Veronica
Wednesday
Yesenia

boys:

Aramis
Banquo
Casper
Cypress
Enoch
Finnigan
Grey
Immanuel
Jareth (yep. The Labyrinth)
Kairos
Lindsay
Mercutio
Nicodemus
October
Raphael
Salem
Vincent
Yusef
Zacchaeus

I like Louise and Jade, pronounced differently though than in English. Jade is way too popular though. I like Isaura too, that's a Portuguese name.

For boys I have a thing for Scandinavian names.

But I try not to think about this topic too much. It frustrates the hell out of me. I should aim at a stable relationship first.
