http://www.timesunion.com...=4/17/2006 Woman charged in acid attack Police say Albany resident threw chemical at guests at wedding reception By ANNE MILLER, Staff writer SCHENECTADY -- A wedding reception ended abruptly when a party crasher tossed a container full of acid at three guests early Sunday. The chemical was so powerful it not only ate through the victims' clothes, burned their skin and sent them to the hospital -- it also ate through the gloves of paramedics who tried to treat them, and burned their hands. A 39-year-old Albany woman has been arrested in connection with the attack, which occurred at the Friendship House on State Street. Police said Rihab Hagelkhider, of 25 Lark St. in Albany, entered the hall, where more than 200 people had gathered around 3:30 a.m. with a container of the acidic chemical meant for a 29-year-old partygoer. Hagelkhider apparently found her target, as well as two other women. The chemical splashed back and burned Hagelkhider as well, according to police. Paramedics Darren Marino and David Mannix wore protective gear, but didn't realize what they were dealing with when they reached to help the victims and wore thin plastic gloves for protection, said city Fire Chief Robert Farstad. The injured were treated at local hospitals and released. A witness told police that the attack stemmed from an incident Thursday night, when Hagelkhider allegedly threw a brick through a car windshield in Albany. No additional details about that incident were available. Hagelkhider faces felony criminal mischief charges for the Albany brick-throwing, plus second-degree assault and reckless endangerment for the attack. She was arraigned in Schenectady City Court Sunday morning and sent to the county jail.

I actually laughed when reading the story... Horrible of me, I know. But it's just so over-the-top and dramatic!
